Is my Mac dead?

:cb If anyone's got any ideas it'd be much appreciated.

G5 Mac - 6ish years old - not turning on.

Basically if you try to turn it on at either the button on the stack or the touch sensitive button at bottom right hand corner of screen, you get the initial sound of the stack starting up and whirring, but the screen doesn't spring to life and there's no 'dana' sound. Then the little light on the stack and bottom right hand corner of screen just flash (at same time) every couple of seconds (with a bit of whirring from the stack).

Terminal or not? Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Julian

how many sticks of RAM have you got inside the box?
if you have 2 try unplugging them and put 1 in the first slot and boot and then try with the other one...
and would point to faulty ram... If that doesnt work try resetting the SMU which is detailed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1436

most likely the SMU/PMU reset should fix it, if not then It maybe board replacements....
