Toothache

Post by Cannyfixit »

why does toothache always start late at night, last night around 11pm it started by 3am i'm walking the around the house in bloomin agony, soaked it in lamb's.popped a few painkillers nothing eased it
then mrs Canny comes downstairs around 4.30 am and digs through the cupboards, here you go try this.OralB dental gel, applied a blob to the tooth and within minutes the pain subsided enough for me to grab a few hours kip :huray:
Phones my dentist this morning they cant fit me in and tell me to ring the NHS emergency number,24 minutes it took for someone to answer ::b
booked in for 11.15am today and £17.00 to pay :cb

£17?? Isn't the NHS free anymore? Over here there arent any NHS dentists so last time I went (just before I got married the last time) I had to go a see a dentist for screaming nancies who hate needles. Sorted out my teeth (loads of filling etc) but nearly passed out when he sent me the bill - it was £1.2k - false teeth would be cheaper!

Dental Charges in England
£17, £47 or £204 depending upon treatment.

Will have to find the £204 soon as I am having some broken teeth extracted and dentures made.

In Wales we are pretty good with the doctor side of things everything is free including prescriptions but trying to find a NHS dentist is a nightmare. On the news it will show a new dentist practice open and there are huge queues of people signing up but at least if you get on their books its all free (unless you want something that isnt standard like gold teeth)

I always thought wisdom teeth were an 'optional fit' (for most people I know  ).

Get some Oil of Cloves in your medicine cabinet. Old fashioned but the most effective tooth ache relief known.
Don't take it personally......

NHS dentists are as rare as hens' teeth round here so I go private

Last Christmas I had toothache so got the emergency private dentist. Cost me £100 but she threw in the antibiotics for free.
I should be dead; I've cheated the Grim Reaper yet again by surviving my third heart attack in June.
