Do people just not think!!

Post by dynamod »

Was driving back from the job yesterday (late Saturday, and not in the best of fettle) and why oh why can people not put their bloody handbrakes on when they are sitting still in a line of traffic??

Does the person in front ALWAYS have to sit with their foot on the brake pedal blinding the poor sod behind? ::b

I was waiting in a queue behind a (surprise, surprise....) laady driver who thought her rear fog lights were disco extras, fitted for her amusement and to illuminate the wrld in general. It's the only time I've ever been so hacked off that I got out of the car to tell her what to do with them........
Don't take it personally......

Just been out today and realised that I do it sometimes (not always) but I will try not to from now on.

I do it especially if I have a BMW behind me. Or put it in P and then put the proverbials up them by going from P to R to D VERY slowly. They think I may reverse into them .

Never noticed a problem with brakelights but I did have a couple of divs in a souped up golf following me for about ten miles down a country lane a while ago. They couldn't get past the van so contented themselves by putting main beam and front fogs on. I stopped in a very narrow bit of road and me and the lad had great pleasure in kicking the front lights in with our steelies.

Never heard anything about it afterwards. Perhaps it was too dark for them to see the registration plate

Only one of the things that drive me nuts on the road...how about "Give way to traffic coming from the right"...try that at a mini-roundabout... :?
How about "indicate your intention in a timely manner"..as opposed to" as you turn left your finger hit the indicator lever"
If you bother indicating at all....

What about use the slip road onto a dual-carraigeway as a parking space...instead of accelerating and judging the traffic... :angryfire: ::b

I could go on...and probably will...

The problem as I see it is that most drivers, having passed their test assume they can drive...and stop learning...and also disregard most of what they'd learnt..good drivers learn something new on the road most days... :help:

Most of my driving grumps are to do with lights in some way.

The other two that spring to mind are
  • People who flick to main beam JUST before they are passed
  • Hazard warning lights being used when something is parked. You can't see one side of the vehicle, so you think they are indicating to pull out.

Yep, I agree both these get on my bits! Plus as mentioned earlier when people do one flash of the indicator before they pull out on you on a motorway. What with looking in the mirrors, looking at other cars, one flash is not always enough!

Front and rear fog lights on when you can see for feckin' miles. ::b ::b
Had one this morning come up behind me with front fogs on, so I flashed my rear fogs a couple of times and the stupid tw*t must have thought I was pissin' about so he flashes his full beam. :angryfire:

Taxi drivers who are meant to be PROFESSIONAL road users with badly aimed headlights - usually in your face. Show some sense and keep your cars maintained!

Idiots who sit in the middle/fast lane of a motorway when there is NOBODY around for miles!!! There was one when I was coming back late at night from the airport and he was doing 60/65 in the FAST lane. I stayed on the inside land and undertook him at 75 (I'm told it's not actually illegal if it's speed limit and the other lane is going at a slowe speed) and he goes TITS flashing and beeping at me, going mad in his car.....AND THEN STAYS IN THE SAME LANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trucks overtaking each other in dual lane carriageways at 1mph more for 10 minutes holding everyone up only for the gradiant of the road to change slightly and then the inside truck get the 1mph edge in speed. The overtaking truck then has to fall back and pull back in!!!!

Part of me thinks you could fix the motorway by switching the fast and slow lane over night.

I'm angry now....... ::b

driving back on the m25 the other night I was going (75-Fairly fast) in the middle lane, the amount of people that pull out from the slow lane to the middle lane just infront of me was insane, kept having to put my foot down and move into the fast lane just so they didnt hit me.
