Hi chaps
Quick question regarding differing prices. I have all the tiles and adhesive/grout.
2 m2 of kitchen splashback
2 m2 of wall tiles in a utility around bog/sink
One guy reckoned day rate at £150 another says 3 days at £95 per day.
What do you think. I was happy with the first but I don't think he is available quick enough.
Anyone know a good tiler in SE London/Kent borders?
Cheers
Papa

Me.....one of my tilers or another one of my tilers....................Only problem being £220.
What tiles have you got and the size of them, what adhesive?
Have you taken the toilet and basin out?
I have a job cancelled at present as the concrete is too damp.
You can see some of my work in the showcase gallery. PM me if you like, but advice wise please stick to this thread.

Tiles are from Topps.
Splashback is metro red 10x20 cms and utility modus alpe 25x40 with a strip of left over mosaic on top (diesel 5x5cms).
Ready mix evostik adhesive/grout for kitchen and powder mix for utility (as bigger tiles).
No bog or sink yet as new room so no obstacles.
Cheers

The evostik is no good, anyway. Best off taking it back and getting a refund.
You can't (shouldn't) tile and grout on the same day unless using a rapid setting adhesive.
You need to use bagged adhesive for the larger tiles/mosaic and the one bag would be enough for both areas anyway.
The metro tiles are a pain in the butt for cutting around sockets. Have to be done on a wet cutter because for some reason as soon as a diamond bladed angle grinder touches them they crack. Hopefully not many sockets lol.
Forget about the £95 a day 3 day bloke. No one gets out of bed for £95 apart from chancers and a tiler won't take 3 days to do that.
It is less than a days work spread out over two days beause of having to wait to grout, therefore two site visits. Or it is one day complete with the rapid set adhesive.

Re: Quote
sounds a days job.
Tile both with rapid then the first one should be ready to grout.
Then grout second one.
never personally use evo-stick or unibond addy especially addy & grout in one tub jobs.

I would ask the £150 bloke how long it will take him? At least you have a price off the £95 bloke for 3 days (so £285). If the £150 day bloke says it will take him more than 2 days then its more
