Switched on tonight after the weekend away, system tray gone and screen size changed. My avatar here is supposed to be square, but is now squashed side to side. Why, and how to correct?

Try going into backup/restore.

You should be able to restore your settings from about a week or two ago.

I would run a virus check or three

I restarted the computer, and all seems OK now, anti virus reports nothing untoward.
