Sorry if I've missed this in another thread it must be a bit of a classic, but can anyone recommend a good product/method for cleaning up dirty mouldy white grout in the bathroom.

In an ideal world I'd cut it out and regrout but it's not bad enough to warrant a big job I'm just looking to freshen up the look. Reviews on grout pens seem to be pretty hit and miss so am thinking try to find a good thick one? Or maybe do a thin layer of normal grout after cleaning off as much as possible on top of the existing and seal?

Any thoughts / advicemuch appreciated!

Have a look here, lots of good products that do the job. http://uk.hg.eu/wizard-shop/index/id/28 ... om/_toilet also do not try and grout over grout, it will not work, the new grout will crack and fall off. If cleaning does not work then do it properly and remove the old grout and replace. The HG products are very good so if it's not too bad you should be satisfied with the results. Stay away from grout pens, waste of time and money, you may as well use Tippex.

I have tried grout pens and some cleaners but ended up removing it with a dremel and a grout removal tool and re-grouting. It took ages but was well worth it.

Try cleaning it first and then see how it is before you decide the next option but I would recommend that you stay clear of the pens!

Neat bleach, apply with an old toothbrush or similar, leave 20 mins, rinse off...

Thanks everyone. Tried neat bleach + toothbrush, pretty good result.

The pics on Craig's link look fantastic though, so will now give the grotbuster a go and compare!

Ok verdict...neat bleach not bad, but Grotbuster quite a lot more effective. Maybe just the extra thickness and stickiness makes it perfect for grout. Top tip!

I got fed up of grout, so I've gone over to waterproof lamiated boards - no more grout to clean.

When you compare the installation costs vs tiles - it works out better in my eyes. Less time to install too.

No grout, no joins for water to penetrate and rot, easy to clean, plenty of patterns to choose from.
