Installing shower enclosure

Just a niggling thought- is it best to tile the shower area first & then instal the enclosure onto the tiles,or does the enclosure get built first and then tile up to that internally?What's the general thought on that.Its going onto Hardieboard backer.Thanks guys.

Yes; it probably tells you that in the instructions with the shower enclosure.

Tile first is the right way. Make a note of where the screws are fixing the board up. It is a good idea to have a look at the fixing positions on the enclosure so you can make sure that there is clear passage through backer and frame to get a good fix.

My method would be instal shower tray, then tile, then the rest of the enclosure.

Thanks for the replies - there was no mention in the enclosure instructions so I'll begin the tiling first.Dave.
