Fitting aCorner kitch cpboard that turns into a recess wall

Post by jannyz55 »

Hello to all once again,
Im really at a brick wall on this one(pardon the pun)I have googled for days, but to no avail. We are finally fitting a kitchen in the one half of our basement,it is a U shaped kitchen. The main wall and right hand side wall are straight with no recesses, but its as we leave the main wall to turn the corner onto the left wall where we have become unstuck,it turns straight into the first of two recesses. The first recess is 750mm wide x280mm deep.how do we go about putting a corner cupboard here,if we want the cupboards running flush around the corner to where the recesses stop as I already mentioned they come out by 280mm. Do we leave the space behind? How is this secured? Do we have to buy a certain deeper corner cupboard? Or is it down to what I think they call "packers"?Hope I have explained this well enough for somebody to understand.Any help would be really appreciated Thank you Jan.

Leave the space behind..use offcuts to pack as necessary, you'll also want to get a deeper worktop (Breakfast bar) and trim to size..

280mm would be an awful lot of packing: be better to just frame it out to the edge of the recess - i.e. make the wall flush in other words.
One day it will all be firewood.
