How would we create an island like this?

Hi everyone,

We're planning a new kitchen and so far we want to go with one from Ikea. But we are struggling with the island/breakfast bar. We love this one from Everest:

Is it possible we could design something like this from Ikea? Or are there anu specialist worktop companies who could make this up?

Thanks!

Those are quartzs worktops so you won't get them from ikea as far as I know.

Look at Compac and Stilestone to start with but there are plenty of manufacturers.

Please keep in mind ikea kitchens are a pig to fit so a fitter may charge you more or you have to rerun services. So whilst you might save some money on the purchase price, it could cost you more in the long run

Yes it is specialist tops. Box section quartz, the vertical especially. The last kitchen was a similar design I posted on here but I took it off when I delegated the pics from photo bucket. Expensive but very wow factor.

The normal granite manufactures won't have the machinery to do this, the big companies will.

From experience this is actually quite straight forward in solid surface - for an experienced fitter. I doubt that I'd attempt it as a DIYer
