My other half has persuaded me to replace the kitchen rather than revamp.
I have a design I am happy with but cannot settle on colour scheme. I am sure a lot of people on this site have great experience with what looks good so....
What colour of worktop would you put with a) buttermilk b) ivory units ?
upstands/splashbacks or tiles?

Re: kitchen design questions
What looks good to me or anyone else may not be to your taste, but my preference would be something in red or black, a couple of options shown below.
There is however more than just colour involved, do you want to use laminate, granite, wood, marble, Corian or one of the various other materials?

Black's best? you can get upstands and splashbacks to colour match from most local suppliers, hope that helps?

Re: kitchen design questions
personally with Ivory or similar extremely light powder colour I'd be inclined to go for a solid wood (or solid wood effect) worktop, but it's all a very personal taste thing.
visit the showrooms and see what choices they have with certain colourways as it really gives a good idea, my own kitchen (solid light oak) in the showroom was teamed with a matching wooden worktop which imo looked dreadful, so went for the dark coloured granite/ quartz effect and I am very pleased with the results
