What Do You Think
Just wondering what you guys think we should do, we live on a new estate in a kind of culdesack with 5 house's in the middle between the two sides of house there is a wide path big enough to park a car or van which joins to a lane which when the estate is finished will take you from one end to the other and the park when done.
The concern is that there has been a van and pick up(not at the same time) on several occasions drive past ours and down the lane which is suppose to be foot use only and one of the times the pick up went down it was about 3-4 in the morning, the neighbors has had someone in there garden as the gate was open when they went to it, so we are worried that these vans and pick up may be casing ours house.
What do you think we should do, I feel that as it such a wide path and then there our front lawns as well that who ever is in charge should put more lighting down there and post's/boulards to stop vehicles going down it. If there has to be access, which I'm unsure of they could be them removable post like you have at parks where only emergency and the owners have the key thing to remove them.
Let us know what you think, thanks again.
P.S. All the house's and flats have courtyards behind with parking and access.

Re: What Do You Think
I would have a word with the planning office and identify if its a road or footpath,in the mean time take digital pictures of the vehicals capturing there registration number and time of day if it is something iffy then you have proof for the police to act on

Re: What Do You Think
I'm not sure who owns the path as the grass either side is marked as in the maintanance aggrement( we pay a yearly fee for them to maintain the estate)

Re: What Do You Think
It needs a post putting in to block vehicular access. It depends if the roads and pathways on your estate are adopted by the council whether you can get them to do it. If it is a managed estate then approach the management company about it. In the meantime make up some caltrops ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caltrop ) and scatter a few in the tyre track. That should cause some problems for whoever it is. Say nothing to anyone about this anti intruder action either.

Probably find a pikey camp and a hundred caravans down there next week. Sooner you block it off the better.
