Blocking Ads

Post by carder1 »

Everytime I look for something on the net, ads for the item follow me on my computer wherever I go. Watches, tools and towel warming radiator ads follow me around like pet dogs and I would like to know if there is any way of stopping this nuisance? :angryfire:

Dave, have tried about 30 times to access my carder1 account without success. So using another e-mail opened this one just to say thanks for the help. I have e-mailed ultimate h to tell them about my log-in problem and hopefully wont have to use this user again.

In the end, you ignore everything and click "I agree".

Perhaps I should also add that if this site isn't here one day it is because it has closed because of all the people using ad blockers :thumbright:

Have to agree with UHM for once, Even though I hate the damn adds and there's much too many in my opinion, they are what pays for the web site and forum, and that you can take from me isn't cheap.

Pssssst the Ads also pay for the competition prizes, next time you win something or think of entering.

I just ignore adverts.

One thing which did wierd me out though, regarding this advert stuff. A female friend of mine borrowed my laptop one evening.

All the next day instead of the usual screwfix etc. I was getting adverts for lingerie... Using my laptop to buy her pants? Cheeky mare.

Thanks for the input guys and a special thanks to Mr Admin who helped me get back to my usual user after some 40 attempts to log in. The problem of ads appearing is insignificant compared to my marathon log-in attemps.

if you have firefox download a add-on called '*****' activate this and it will block all everything you choose, targeted ads etc..

By all means use them but do not plug/advertise them.
