tile over wallpaper paste?

We spend a week or so removing the old vinyl wallpaper in the bathroom square inch per square inch. We repaired the old plasterboard and I sealed it with watered down emulsion.
Then, because I thought we would wallpaper again, I sized the wall with watered down wallpaper paste. Now I think it may be better to cover the wall with tiles. Do I need to scrub the wallpaper paste off, or won't it interfere with the tile cement?

We are also using a tile trim on the edge of the bath, so do we start from there or should we use a baton and fill in the bottom tiles later?

I know we should call in the expert, but we are skinned and need to do the bathroom because water leaked to the neighbour downstairs.....

Perhaps I should have mentioned that I, of course, did wipe down the walls with warm water, but I'm not certian that this has removed all the paste, hence my query.

I'd do it again with sugar soap and hot water, just to be sure that the paste has all been removed..

Thanks for that, I never thought about sugar soap, I'll go and do that now.

I found the pictures for the tile trims, so I do have an idea now on how to proceed with that.
