Evening All.
Have had AVAST on my computer for about 6 months without any problems.
Yesterday it stopped working.
Tried to upgrade and fix problem as instructed in the pop up window but neither worked.
Uninstalled the program completely and have tried 3 times to to re-instate it but no joy.
Have used the AVAST site,FILEHIPPO and CNET but always with the same result.
The program seems to download ok but as soon as i start the installation i get a message saying
"installation/application failed due to spawning.
I'm running WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM and aside from AVAST everything seems to be normal
Have downloaded AVG since AVAST stopped working and have run scans with it and also
MALWAREBYTES no nasties found.
Any ideas anyone
Cheers

Re: AVAST ISSUE
You may be getting the install problem if you have AVG running as you should not have two antivirus programs running at the same time.
If you really want avast then download and save to desktop or download folder and then turn off AVG before trying to install Avast.

Re: AVAST ISSUE
I replaced AVG with Avast a couple of years ago; I had used AVG for a long time but that particular incarnation really slowed down my computer. Avast works fine for me.
If you google "Avast spawning" you'll see there are a couple of possibilities of what the problem may be (and their fixes).

One day it will all be firewood.
