New Jigsaw

Post by The Weegie »

I'm going to buy a new jigsaw soon, and am looking for any help on the purchase.

I will be using it for general use and am willing to pay between 50 and 70 pounds. I know thats not a lot of cash for a jigsaw, but it will mainly be used for laminate flooring.

Is corded better than cordless? I have a number of ryobi one plus tools and was thinking of buying their cordless jigsaw.

The Erbauer 800W from screfix looks ok anybody used it?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hi Weegie.

I have a Ryobi One+ Jigsaw (non-laser version) which I was using for some tricky cuts in laminate at the weekend. Seemed to do the job pretty well (posted some cuts I made with in on the site, as it happens) - used up a battery fast though - you'll need more then one spare, I would think.

I have a Bosch Green Corded Jigsaw, but to be honest, I find the Cordless one so handy, I don't really pick that one up much at all now.

I would say 50 - 70 squid is easily enough for a perfectly usable jigsaw, IMHO.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for the advice hoovie.

I do like ryobi one stuff. I was in B&Q today and they were selling all ryobi, Black and Decker and Bosch power and garden tools with 25% off.

So that is an attraction to buy the ryobi.

Decisions! Decisions! eh.

My wife is going mental. All ive did for that past 48 hours is talk about jigsaws.
