not sure if I would ever buy a battery for £210
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I'd do what Hitch says.

I bought a load of second hand dewalt tools cheap from a mate, I mean really cheap! They were not nicked, but had been repaired. These were silly prices like a dewalt 24v sds drill for £30, but I had to buy a charger and battery etc. I got lots of 18v stuff as well.

I paid about £150 for a good selection of dewalt tools and wanted to get all the same voltage and so I put it all on ebay and what I paid £150 sold for £450 and so I bought a brand new dewalt 18v -5 kit with the money

I've contemplated trying to fix a battery by taking it apart and replacing the cells inside - in theory you just need to buy equivalent replacements with solder tags, then solder into place.

I've not done it because it's not worth it on a £30 Screwfix POS... But might be worth a go on a £100 battery...

i've bought a few batteries off ebay, would not recommend it.

bought a genuine bosch battery, but they seemed to have a very short life, they stopped holding charge after about 1 year (previous ones lasted 2+years). then bought a copy battery, that melted when i was using it :?

so a few months ago i just bought a 14.4v bosch drill driver with 3rd battery free, for £150, so basically the drill driver was free as batteries are at least £50 to buy separately. when these go i will buy new again and sell the old stuff on ebay, the prices that decent quality tools go for on there are ridiculous.
