The Elder Twin
One day Bludall celebrated her birthday. Two days later her older twin brother, Stoday, celebrated his birthday.

How come?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I would have thought that if one was born on say 28th, then the other was born the following month?

S and B's mother was on a ship/plane and gave birth to Stoday on 1 March. Then the boat, which was travelling east, passed the international date line, so the date became 28th Feb when Bludall was born.

Now, in a leap year, Bludall celebrates her birthday on 28Feb but the older Stoday has to wait 2 days to 1 March for his birthday.

you are very close...

The younger twin celebrated her birthday.... TWO days LATER, the ELDER twin celebrated his birthday.

We know time zones are involved, we know transportation is involved, we suspect Leap years come into it

Stoday has the answer - nearly!

doean't have to be the international date line, just any time zone and the first birth happening after midnight 1st March, 2nd Birth 28th Feb after transport crossed time zone (but travelling West, not East :-) )

Stoday - need to come up with one now :thumbright:

28th Bluds
1 day later = 29th
2 days later = 1 March, when it's the elder Stoday's birthday.

What's wrong with that?

nothing!!! you were right -EXCEPT for the need to travel EAST across interational date line.

to go "back in time", you have to travel WEST!
