Hi All
Sorry if this isn't in the correct section, I wasn't sure if I should put it here in the metal forum.
I have had some large stainless steel sheet cut to fit inside an old chimmney breast in my kitchen. It is going to have a range cooker infront of it.
I was wondering if there is a good product to use to attached the stainless steel to a newly plastered wall. I'm not sure if I need to get something that will deal with the heat from the oven.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Cheers
Jim

Re: Attaching a Stainless Steel Splashback
I did this for my brother, I used mirror screws( and plugs) with the silver dome heads, and put a zig zag bead of sticks all adhesive on the back for good measure, and a very thin bead of silcone around the edges. 3 years later and no problems. It was about 1m x .8m.
With hindsight you might want todo it without the mirror screws, the don't look too bad, just might stick out a bit in a contemporary kitchen

Re: Attaching a Stainless Steel Splashback
i had to remove one a few weeks ago to fit an extractor in the chimney, it was stuck on with a few blobs of clear silicone and it was well stuck, so id say silicone.
you will need a few panel pins for the sheet to rest on until it sets
