to cornice or not to cornice?

got one of the pelmets up (finally) and just about to start on the cornicing, and now we're not sure on the look of whether or not it looks 'right' or not

I've got a picture of a wall unit very similar to ours (not exactly the same btw), wearing both the pelmet and cornicing which looks exactly the same in style as ours, and wanted to gauge opinion, as the last thing I want to do is spend a whole day doing it and it looks rubbish, and in the same breath the other last thing is take it all back (cornicing) and the units looks somehow naked or odd without them

it's difficult as the units have been without their final touches for so long now its difficult for us to gauge as we've gotten used to the half done look

I should probably add, the kitchen already has standard classic coving all the way around as well

many thanks, I bit the bullet and went for it, and you're right it really actually does finish the units so well

also found out the hard way mitre adhesive dont half heat up as it dries  (backed every joint up with a hidden brace too - just in case)

Funny you should ask. I was clearing my shed today, in preperation for our move, and came across the cornice that I was going to fit when I did the kitchen... guess I'll leave it for the people moving in

btw. I hate leaving jobs unfinished and rarely do, the units look fine without it.

That looks just like ours!

We are glad we did the work but I have to say it did glue very quickly!
