Sheraton/Omega, same company, good quality. should have no problems with damages/returns if applicable.
Wickes, reasonable quality, can take them longer with damages/returns.
Any kitchen will only be as good as the fitter....
Check out wren kitchens. all carcasses delivered built...

Shame, decent quality for the price IMHOwoody41 wrote:Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I don't live near a Wren showroom. The nearest one is 1 1/2 hours away!

Re: New Kitchen Wickes/Sheraton/Omega Kitchens
When I fitted my first kitchen 15ish years ago it made sense to build my own carcasses (and the doors because of the design) mainly because the quality of most bought ones was so poor. The general quality now is much better, everyone uses adjustable legs, drawers are more solid , soft close seems to be standard. I might be wrong but I don't think anyone manufactures 'bad' kitchens these days, the margins are too low -- going to get al sorts of horror stories now
As wino~o says, it's all in the fitting.
The last kitchen I fitted for a customer was from Focus do-it-all and of excellent quality, although I had to refuse two lengths of worktop because of chips and the service wasn't great. My own kitchen is from the Wickes take away range, again good quality and it was cheap (even with buying different handles)
The way they all catch you is on the 'extras': cornice, larder units, end panels etc. are all expensive. Make sure you know what you're getting in each price and compare like for like.

When I heard they'd discovered a cure for dyslexia it was like music to my arse!

Thanks for the info. You are completely right about the "extras". I went through the Wickes quote and they had added some wire works into the corner units which I said I didn't want because of budget. This added £ 814.00 to my bill. I don't want "a frill" kitchen as I am on a budget. Just good quality.
