i personally own a professional Bosch SDS plus hammer and its never failed me, 2nd to none and at the price your looking at you can buy a high end bosch off ebay for less that will last you years
this is same as mine, plus 3 batteries

I use a hitachi 18v drill driver- it was the best I could afford when I started out, and after 18 months of a lot of use, it's still fine. I often use a sanding disc in the drill for large areas, so it gets quite a lot of use.
The hammer function is ok- won't do concrete, but at 18v I don't expect it to.
Would definitely get another.

Yep you often get the much better 18v version of that Hitachi drill on offer for under £100 with 2 Li-ion batteries just the same (just lower capacity in the batteries unfortunately but 3ah ones are available for it)

the drill thats usually £100 is a totally diffrent drill, smaller/cheaper/flimsier diy grade

They are two completely different machines, you would have a job driving screws/drilling joists etc using an SDS.
