If you want to speed up your Broadband go to the master socket and pull off the "bell wire" (connector 3)
My BB increase from 3.1 to 3.4 Meg my mate Ian went from 1 to 3 meg
It seems this wire is not needed these days and acts as an aerial and adds noise to the line, slowing the BB down
I measured my BB speed on the router, before and after.
I doubt this mod is approved by any of the Telco's and you do it at your own risk, but you could always pop the wire back on if you wanted!

What master socket, and what bell wire, are you talking about the telephone socket? I only have 2 wires attached.

I've had the cover off the main socket but don't remember there being a connector three, tbh. What colour is the wire? Do you remember?
