Hi everyone. Am fitting my B&Q Kitchen at the moment (Shys and groans) and I have a couple of questions please.
I'm fitting 2 bridging units side by side and one of the hanging brackets lands right on top of the light switch wire. Is there a way of packing out the cupboard so the bracket falls in a different position?
And the second question is should I have been supplied an end panel to match the kitchen for the bridging unit or do B&Q expect people to cut up a spare panel to fit?

There is a spreader rail that might help in this situation, but it would be best to post a pic as it might be possible to suggest and alternative solution. Have a look http://www.woodfit.com/product_info.php ... +Aluminium pricey so shop around.

It is usual to buy an end panel and cut them to suit. It is for these panels, plinths and cornices that BnQ make a thumping profit. One way is to have a look at getting a colour match done on a door and getting some paint mixed up. Paint over some Contiboard and voila. You need to make sure that the paint route is not as expensive as the panel. Johnstones decorating centres can scan the door to get the colour.

On the rail idea you can cut it to size to fit exactly the back of the cabinet recess and the screws that fix the rail can be spaced to miss the wiring. It can be used to beef up the fixings if the wall is not too sound also.

It's a dot and dab wall so I was going to take the route of chopping the plaster board out to fix a batten to the blocks and then by your guidence it looks like i'll be getting a hanger rail.

if you are going to chop the wall out and add timber you will probs be able to get enough slack on the cable to move it over an 1" or so yust were the bracket needs to go
