not sure how good it will be in general you wont get enough heat to dry washing so you will have a heat pump at around 3kw output per 1kw input doing little more than taking the chill off the washing supplimented by a normal heating element would the extra cost be recouped within the life off the machine with a drying cycle for a normal machine being 20-30p with possible saving of 10 to 15p a dry thats 750- 1000 tumbles per extra £100 at 3 times a week thats 6 to 8 years to pay for its self if its say £200 more that 12-16 years

the actual amount will depend on the actual figures but you get the idea

A Heat Pump tumble dryer works very well & you can pay a lot less than the Panasonic for one BA.
If you're anything like my lot, the tumble dryer is on for 8 hours some days, typical Scottish summer, pis.ing down!!!

£700 for one. not for me.

No one have gas tumble driers? Mate has one and he says it saves him a fortune....seems the norm in the US too.

Probably because domestic gas prices in the US have fallen through the floor due to their 'fracking' for gas. Here in the UK you'd probably still pay through the nose.

depends on your definition off a fortune any saving is worth having if it more than pays for its self
gas tumble dryer used around 65% off the kw of an electric one a tumble will use perhaps 2-3kw on a drying cycle so assuming 15p per kw thats around 38p a cycle with a 20p saving per cycle on gas so a possible 20p £2 dependant on 1 or 10 uses a week

i would save the 20p or £10 a year so the outlay for gas point more expensive machine and annual maintainance costs would not be the deciding factor

It would seem the only people who make domestic gas tumble dryers are "white knight"
If their electric tumble dryers are anything to go by............. also at £350 they are not cheap. (but still half the price of the "heat pump" tumble dryer mentioned in the first place.)

Urgh Beko.....When ANYTHING goes wrong they are CLUELESS. I was promised a manager call back 5 times over 6 months ago....still waiting now....

Likely knowing them it wouldn't even manage to properly set itself on fire...

White knight gas dryers are great appliances. The running costs are less than a quarter of leccy ones!
