Drilling ceramic tiles

I need to drill over protruding open ended copper pipe to accomodate pipe covers. The pipes are sticking out from wall 18mm and I need to drill holes to 32mm diameter to depth of tile. The inserts are those supplied with Mira Excel exposed shower valve. Best suggestions please.

Use a diamond tipped drill bit, either a grit finish or a normal ceramic spear will do.
Go into your local tile supplier (individual companies, not Topps etc. as they rip you off on tools) - ideally get Armeg tools, but their own brands may be just as good.
Cheers

Thanks for that Matt. Ordered my Ardex tanking kits from you yesterday delivered today, great service. Didn't see the discount code though

What's the chances!
Again, glad to hear the goods got to you nice and quick, love how efficient UPS are at shipping the stuff.
Remember it for next time!
(We can supply Armeg 35mm drill bits, comes to £39.53 inc. your extra 5% for uhm discount, and I've knocked off the delivery due to its weight
)
Cheers
EDIT: Just found these on eBay, only a fiver. Not trying to downsell us, but the gear we sell is aimed at pro tilers, maybe want to get one of these for a quick and easy job:

Thanks Matt. I suppose a cheapie will suffice as I only need to drill two holes.
