Whilst our lad has been on tour, I embarked upon decorating the main bedroom. I knew it would be hard work, the previous owners had used dark red below and dark orange above . Its quite a dark room and the effect was a little like sleeping in a migraine:shock:

So the four coats to obliterate the dark red on one wall, mitigated by the cunning use of previous owner's leftover pots of light colour 1coat as undercoat, so that a mere two coats were then needed was annoying but insignificant compared to

opening the second pot of pale yellow paint, only to find the first pot was a completely different colour not shade, colour!

The only thing I can think of is that my first pot was hiding round the corner when shots of pigment were being given out in the factory so it is in effect not a colour.

We have rung the paint maker and been told to send a piece of card, with both colours painted onto it for analysis and have pointed out that I have spent at least the equivalent of 7 days or more and now I have to start again.

They spoke about compensation but I'm wondering if anybody else who has had this problem can share what happened to them

Never had the problem with off shelf retail products, but this is not unheard off if you buy a colour mix, they sometimes by accident give you a tin of mixer or they have forgoten to shake it!!!!

It is an "off the shelf" pot of paint, not a trace of yellow in it at all. I stirred before use ...

Not playing with the mixer thing at all. First pot is a sort of noncolour, not quite yellow, not quite cream but not white either coz I have painted the ceiling with white.
