Hi all i was wondering if someone here could help, ive managed to pick up some metal shelves, the metal criss-cross type found in wherehouses and i want to weigh them in. question do i weigh them in as general scrap where everything else goes, or weigh them in seperately, what metal are they made out of? ive uploaded a photo here of what type they are...

like the type you would find in say a supermarket wherehouse, probably more heavy duty than in the photo. thanks in advance for any help as dont want to get less than they are worth for them, and get a feeling the scrap yard wont tell me as they probably wont want to pay more than they have to, thankis again, richard
p.s. tried to look metal shelving up online but, it doesnt say what the shelves themselves are made out of and you cant seem to buy just the shelves from anywhere (??) its the full shelving that is for sale. only thing i can think of is take 1 shelf in and weigh that and it will tell me on the print out what it is made out of then go in with the rest lol
what are these made out of??

Chances are its galvanised mesh......are they lift off panels that come away from the yellow supports?
Put a magnet on it, if it sticks, weigh it in as steel scrap.
If it doesn't its probably stainless mesh..... depends on previous useage, but i doubt it is.

Re: what are these made out of??
If its in OK condition (and I don't mean it has to look good, just be not all bent and buckled) it'd fetch a hell of a lot more on ebay. If you really don't want to stick it on there for some reason it'd probably even be worth your while driving round to small local companies and offering it to them to use for storing stuff in their warehouses for the ammount you'd get above the scrap value but it'd be a PITA taking it with you so be best to find out EXACTLY what it is first - make / model / quantity etc.

Is this the shelf we are talking about? Of the supports...
The actual shelves normally just sit inside the supports (yellow bits)
