Can anyone give me the low down on Metabo power tools?

From what I have read they seem good, but I do not know anyone that uses them!

Thanks Mozza

Hi Mozza

Metabo power tools are a trusted make and have been making tools for over 75 years. In 1999 Metabo obtained a majority shareholding in Elektra Beckum AG in Meppen. With this takeover, the Metabo Group becomes number 1 in the market for woodworking machines in Europe and number 2 worldwide.

Metabo tools are not the cheapest but are one of the best around, they have had some major power tool developments and were the first to include a safety clutch on some tools. I'm pretty sure that they now make power tools that require a type of electronic key so that if they are stolen, they cannot be used without the electronic key!

Now that's a good idea using the anti theft with the key. I need that. had lots of tools ripped off.

Hi sailfishoney,

Welcome to the ultimatehandyman forum.

Sorry to hear about your tools being ripped off! What happened to them?

In a lot of cases the Police are too busy trying to catch motorists doing 3-4 miles over the speed limit, rather than catching real criminals.

It makes your blood boil

I had a Metabo SDS drill for years but it finally packed up last week and so I purchased a Makita for £130.00

Hopefully this will last as long as my Metabo!

You must of been gutted when you had some of your tools stolen?

Were they taken from your Van, I had some tools nicked once from my van. cost me £200 to get the damn door fixed!
