Re: remove tiles
Hi Brian,
would be useful to know exactly where the tiles are. If they're in the middle of the wall it's going to be hard to get them off in a single piece without damaging surrounding tiles.
If they're at, or close to, the edge, you may be able to chisel (very softly) away at the adhesive underneath and prise them off.
They are very difficult to get off in 1 piece, best of luck to you.

Re: remove tiles
if you're willing to go to extreme, possibly when you cut out the grout use a multi cutter or angle grinder with a thin blade and cut all the way through your plaster board (or whatever backing board you have) and take the whole lot out in one piece. Then lay the tile face down on flat surface, very carefully scrape away the plasterboard and adhesive.
To put it back you'll probably have to put a couple of noggins in behind where the tiles have to replaced so that you can get a piece of board back on.
I assume you want to do this because replacement tiles are unavailable to buy?
