Hello, firstly I have looked at several posts about this and got a few ideas but also confused slightly!

We have recently ripped down all walls in our bathroom to start again from fresh.

We used the green moisture platerboard on all walls and we are wanting to tile all 4 walls from floor to ceiling.

We are having a shower bath (one of the those p shaped ones with a seperate shower on wall, not diverter off taps)

After reading posts in here I cannot decide on what to use!

Am I better off using the BAL WP1 waterproof kit or the Homelux membrane before tiling? Do we only have to put something on shower wall and around bath oris it best to put on all walls?

Whats the best adhesive and grout to use also?

For waterproofing...you will only need to do the wet area...as for waterproof membrane...

Most DIY will use the paint on version...then wait 24hrs before fixing tiles..
Tile fixer will use the paper membrane as you can fix tiles straight away...

As for adhesive...

What type/size off tiles have you got

Grout isn't waterproof only water repellent/resistant...unless its epoxy grout..totally waterproof..

on the main shower wall and border around room will be glass mosaic tiles and the rest white ceramic 300 x 400 tiles.

is the Bal wp1 the best out there to waterproof then or is there better?

Bal/mapei/ardex ect there are a few mfr on the market with the paint on version...

As for adhesive you will NEED to use a powdered adhesive for tiles that size...grey in colour,this is cheaper than white powdered...

But you may need to use white addy for your glass mosaic ...are they see thro or do they have a backing on them?

For your ceramic tiles use a 8mm or 10mm notched trowel...

For mosaic tile border, back butter these on...what size are the glass mosaic? Are they the same thickness as your main tiles?...if not you will want to "dog tooth" them in..

Sounds like you have been to Tops tiles.

use the Bal mosaic adhesive they do as this can also be used for the normal ceramics that you have.

With mosaic, I am hoping you haven't been to tops lol

double checked and the main tiles are infact 250mm x 400mm!

the glass mosaic are 50mm x 500mm each square and come in 300mm x 300mm square sheets, they are 8mm thick. no they are not clear, they have a backing to them.

Am i better off getting a paint on product or a membrane type product?

and nope never heard of Topps?

Who ever thought tiling would be simple lol

So I need to get a powder adhesive, any particular brand?

use a paint on tank kit.

Cement based adhesive for those tiles and cement based mosaic adhesive for the mosaic applied with a 3mm notched trowel.

makes of adhesive as listed above and add nicobond to that if you have a nichols and clarke in your area.
