Hi

The council fitted a wet room about 20 years ago. I have had to replace tiles due to a leak from above.

I am now struggling to find out how to replace the black strip that tore when i removed it.

I hope from the photo's you can see the black strip was glued onto the tiles then a black bead of something was used to bridge the gap between the floor and the black strip

Thanks for any help in advance.

Yoyo
What you are describing is the....cove former...

This a rubber strip about 4"..6"...and rounded/curved...

Glued to the floor/wall and is curved/rounded which runs up the wall,....with a lip on it for the bottom course off tiles to sit on....

Is the safety flooring(altro flooring)....damaged?...

20yrs ago.....that's lasted a real good time.... :thumbright:

Post the pics up....

Just re reading yoyo...

The strip your describing is the transion strip....

This is how a wetroom is set out...

Usually come off the floor 4"and bead/laser around the wall ...and then fit the tile/vinly strip...(this is what your describing)...

Was black rubber..now these days white PVC ..this is the piece the tile sits into or onto...

Then a cove former is glued so you have a nice transion from floor up the wall(nice curve)...

Now carefully using a small screw driver, you should be able to move the black rubber strip towards you(away from the wall).....

This ....Should be glued onto the wall....so where you have ripped/broke it.....using a Stanley blade score it a few times then remove from wall,it will be hard as it should be glued on,so take yer time...

Then if you google you will need to replace/buy a new section and replace...

I use Jeden from Glasgow...this new part will need glued back on using F Ball adhesive you will get this when buying a new piece off the black rubber transion strip...

Post up pics....we can have a look..... :thumbleft:
