Mitre Saws: DWS780, LS1216L or GCM12 SD

As title, we are looking at getting a decent mitre saw and my options at the minute are the Dewalt DWS780, the Makita LS1216L or the Bosch GCM12 SD. I would love a kapex but the price is a bit
. We will be using it for everything from fencing, decking, framing etc to 2nd fix skirts, architraves etc.
I'm leaning towards the dewalt but i would like some opinions

If you're spending that sort of money, then I'd definitely go Makita, but I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed with the DeWalt.

Just a suggestion but think about the evolution range, I have a rage 3 and I can't fault it, neither can my mate who has one and is a college carpentry tutor. Both never had a piece this bad boy won't cut

Makita.......................Had the mispleasure of using Dewalt before and none of them cut as true as a Makita, especially cutting aluminium on the office refurbs.
I use a Makita for office refurbs.
Elektrabekum (spelling) for carpentry. Now taken over by Metabo.........................
So add metabo to your list. better than the Dewalt, that is for sure.

hi all
i have the Bosch gcm12sd with the leg stand
have used the dewalt big boy and was not that impressed compared to my Bosch
i have got and still use a 250 mm dewalt about 10 years old with a Freud blade that i use most weeks for little jobs
so do not have any bias against dewalt tools
the trouble with the big boy saw is there bloody heavy you want to set them up and leave them you don't want to be lugging the all over up and down stairs
my gcm12sd is a fantastic bit of kit with the leg stand great positive stops repeat cut easy cuts beautiful with right blade
eg the blade i used for roughing[decking ect ] is not the blade i use for 2nd fix
all the best ghostrider

The saw range I recommend was first prize on last month's prize draw and now they have another available for second prize this month.

Well i still havent decided on or bought one yet, been too busy trying to buy the whole Makita 18v range!
It seems that the Makita may be the one to go for by all accounts. And it will match the rest of my gear! haha
