Blackburn council bin collection website

Blackburn council bin collection website numpties

I can’t remember the last time I was grumpy, but right now I am furious.

Last week I checked the Blackburn rubbish collection website and wrote the bin collection days on the calendar. Today was scheduled for a Brown bin collection which is garden waste, because our garden is quite large this bin is always full.

Last night I put the bin out, then this morning I went and cleared the snow from the drive and threw down some magic ice melt. As our house is a corner plot the start of the drive is very narrow and so bins get in the way. As nobody else on the street had put their bin out I checked the Blackburn bin collection page, only to find that the brown bin had been removed from todays schedule :dunno:

I then moved the bin to the back of the house and wondered what the hell the council were playing at, showing a bin collection a week or so previous then it disappearing.

As I just walked down the stairs I saw a yellow flashing light- yes, it was the f*cking bin wagon, which I saw stop right at the other end of the street to empty a brown bin.

Still a much better service than I get, two thin plastic bags collected once a fortnight, for a few months, if they are not deemed too heavy by the useless bsatard collecting them, the missus manages to put them out, and back again when they are not taken.

We have FIVE bins!!! The logistics involved in getting the right bin out on the right day are akin to a military operation.
For a laugh, I go out early & put the wrong bin out, one auld fella came to our door incandescent with rage, waving the council 'Bin Collection Sheet'.................

I go and put my Grandads bins out every week for him.

Recyling (3 bins) every week, sack/wheelie bin every other week.

He seems to have been brainwashed by the council, into ensuring every single item must be washed out thoroughly, labels removed.... each item placed in the correct box...boxes placed out perfectly aligned with the 7th star from the east of the 9th moon of Uranus, at precisely 18:01hrs, or he will face a massive fine.

I keep telling him, providing the food waste is separate from the rest, they don't care.
Never failed to collect mine, only ever rinsed out, labels on....

Must take him a good 30 mins to collect everything together, look on the sheet to see what goes in which box.... ::b
Then go and do ours 4x as much rubbish, in about 2 mins flat.

Two wheelie bins: Recycling one week, rest of the rubbish the next week. Small food wastes every week. Ace :thumbright:
