So you think Festool make the best jigsaw?

Then maybe you should think again. This is pretty impressive, I'd say, although the Mafell jigsaw does have the advantage of a special reinforced, thick blade. Yes, that is the latest Festool Carvex - slow, eh? (says the man with an even slower Bosch)

The same guys did a wider test which shows the superiority of the Mafell over the rest of the market (sorry guys, it's in Dutch - ask if you don't understand and I'll try to translate)

Interesting to see that neither Makita nor Bosch did that well - and the appearance of a Protool jigsaw (they are owned by Festool's parent company) - a sort of cut-down Carvex

There great for nimble cuts, a lot less restrictive that a jigsaw with a handle..

If I was cutting round toilets and pedestals all day everyday, I'd prefer a jigsaw without a handle. For straight forward repetitive work, handle :thumbright:

Tey can get a bit hot in prolonged use. Saying that they i find them more controllable on finicky cuts. one thing, though, they are pants with downcut blades (T101BR) - at least my aged Metabo is

So would you go for this instead, then?

Or would this circular saw be more in your area?

TBH they aren't the only German firm doing this sort of stuff. P{rotool do big circular saws and chain saws like this one (which iuse a Festool-compatible rail):

Mafell do some nice planers, too. I can see it on site now, "That's not a planer, this is a planer....."

J&k now that's what I'm talking about proper tools :-)
That mafell chain saw makes the protool sword look like a toy

I once saw a mafell vid of a massive 2 man circular saw
