cupboard door

ok not much to look at but its my first attempt so i want to share it with you guys

made from 25mm mdf, i wanted 22mm but noone had any stock locally and have no time to order, my cutters are designed for 18-22mm timber so i had to adjust stuff to get them to go together

hopefully when i fit it next week i will come away with a order for several smaller alcove unit doors that they are keen to replace

I made some cabinet doors using my door set cutters and since then I have managed to get by using stick on strips. That looks like a hell of a job Speed you must have great dust extraction. It must weigh a ton How have you secured the hinges?

Dwd I use the festool router table with festolls extractor so it's pretty dust free, when I got the full 8x4 getting it off the rack and into the van was a struggle it must weigh near on 60kg a sheet.
The hinges are screwed with 2"6s and got a real good hold

Roc there was some head scratching and swearing going on
I have made a face frame to fit once the frames in the wall so the knots won't really be seen and they won't fall out because there not dead, so will be ok, if not its your fault

Fitted ten one day last week, they all had plenty of knots..............

..............but it helps to keep the spider blinders busy.

Wait 'til you try a sheet of 50mm MDF - now that's heavy.

25mm MDF - average weight 18.75k per sq m - (google - just now) - about 55k then.

I think it's all about technique rather than weight - we get used to carrying heavy doors and sheet stuff.

I hung some 2 hour fire doors a couple of years back - it just happened to be in a hospital and the first one was in a physio's room - I stuck the door on their scales and it went 147lb - I'd humped them out of the joinery shop onto the wagon and up the stairs at the hospital, but I know I'd struggle with a bag of cement @ 112lb (if you could still get one that size).

small update
i dont have a before pic but the bottom was plasterboard wall with a small cupboard door just where the boiler was, now its opened up they can store bedding/towels
