im just about to redo the bathroom and am considering what to do tiling wise. Its a square room and im going to have a shower over the bath so for at least some of the wall ill need to tile to ceiling height. The whole room will be plastered so im thinking i may be able to get away with just tiling the one wall and a little bit of the next round the shower and just paint the rest of the room.
My question is firstly will this look odd if only one wall is tiled? secondly, how bad an idea is it to not have tiles behind the toilet? as it stands im going to fit the bath and sink on the same wall so providing its not essential to have tiles behind the toilet the rest of the room will be fine with just plaster.
If i go for this option what do i do about skirting border etc?

Tile around bath full height, then 1200mm or so along the basin run.

No need to tile behind the khazee.

You could use tile for skirting.

im probably going to just tile the whole wall as the sinks pretty much right at the end of the bath anyway and i don't really like those edging strips.
tiles for the skirting is a good shout

If the sink is that tight then probably best to keep the tiling full height.

Our bathroom's tiled to 6" from the ceiling around the bath, then about 18" deep along the end of the bath, which is next to the sink, then a couple of tiles deep over the sink. Inherited decor, but it looks fine.
