I've got a Wickes kitchen coming in the next few weeks and have had a last minute scare about whether or not the appliances will fit in given where the pipes are located. On the wall where the fridge is going ive got the hot and cold feed and boiler condenser pipe, all midway up the wall, which im told will most likely need to be moved to below the plinth height since the fridges are pretty flat at the back. Whilst not keen to do it, my plumber said it's a relatively easy job so im going to get him to do it at the weekend.
The other wall where the oven is a bit more of a pain. It's got the four 15mm pipes feeding the boiler on the outside corer and they're all set at about 40-50cm from the ground (quite high it seems). They're on clips so they're not completely flush to the wall. The fitter who came to look at it said they might be okay as ovens often have a void at the back but i'd rather get them moved now than wait for the day and find it's too late and more difficult to fix.
Has anyone got any ideas on depths, height etc? The units are 570mm deep. Mr Wickes suggested that with the plinth and oven filler(?) there'll be about a 270mm gap from the floor to fit everything in - does this sound about right?
How much hassle will they be to move? Can the plumber just cut them, tap on an elbow/extension and reuse the existing or will it mean brand new lengths of expensive copper, more expensive labour hours etc.?
If the latter, would i be better looking at getting a deeper worktop - at least for the oven wall? i can't do the same on the fridge wall as there's an end panel which would no longer be deep enough.
Looks like yet another thing to cost me money i dont have!!

Re: AEG integrated appliances
Who's worktops are you using?
Are you having worktop upstands?
AEG are big units in depth, but dependant on the above the end panels wall and base are 10mm wider for scribing walls so you could have 10mm to play with if worktop allows and especially if you are having the caledonia range, J handle.
