this is basically a fixed i.e.no plunge router, comes with 2 bases a horizontal base for trimming edge band and a vertical base
great for trimming edge banding although be careful to put the correct bit in as it can do some serious damage to your breakfast bar you're installing,
whips through your tasks once you've set it up

Very expensive way to get a laminate trimmer. If you are doing a lot of PVC edgebanding, solid wood lipping or the like the ability to use the motor in horizontal mode is very useful, but unless you are doing that I'd say it was complete overkill. I've used a Holz-Her 2360 since the late 1990s and the MKF700 is a warmed-over version of that machine (different motor, same bases)
