Nothing on screen not even a flicker, tried a remote monitor as well.

I don't think windows is loading, in fact I'm not sure sure anything happens other than the fan is running

If it was me, I'd start at the basics. Dissconnect power and remove battery - hold power button for a 5 seconds. Put power cable in - does it start?

NO?

Remove HDD - I've seen a few Fuji's that have issues starting when the HDD is dead. Machine powers up with lights and fans - they just stay on continuously. Remove the HDD and start laptop (about 4 screws) and see if you get the self test.

If there are multiple sticks of RAM, then you can remove one, test - if it don't work, swap and try again.

Failing that, I'd not waste any more cash/time on it.

try what I said above - should give you an idea. I'd guess at hdd being dead without more info (finger in the air guess). It's an old machine.....

take the ram out and try in the other ram slot, seen this kind of thing happen before when the primary ram slot packs in.

Do you get the bios screen flash up?

Can you boot from a live copy of linux, or a rescue disk or something like that?

Tried the old fashioned "bash F8 until the cows come home" trick?

Could possibly be as simple as the screen has died to be honest, if it doesn't support external monitor on startup and requires to be switched to "projector mode" when booted then you wouldn't see anything on an external anyway.

Haven't got a copy of Linux or a resue disc for this machine.

Nothing flashes on the screen, and no windows jingle, so pretty certain it isn't loading.

Tried a window disc and nothing from that either.

Haven't had a chance to play with it yet.

If you can hear the fan then the laptop is booting. If the screen shows no display at all it could be that the laptop screen has been switched off in the boot up system.

There may be a F function on the keyboard to try and re-establish a connecton.

I have had a few laptops and they all have quirks. My view is to take it to a local computer guy that will charge 25 pounds just to get it done. Less hassle and time wasting I bet you have spent that money on time of researching.
