Well at lease you will get a pound of sausages thrown in

the makita is a well respected saw but has limited cut width
its great for cutting boards up to 5" or 10" with a flip
what actual jobs are you planning for the saw ??
if you think you may progress into finer things like furniture a slider[pull saw] can give you greater capacity and trenching for making tenons or half lap joins

I'm planning on using it to cut fencing panels, skirting boards, shelving etc.....

As it does mitres it appears to be. Good spec.

Just want a decent value for money saw.....as I'm trying to build my skill base......

Sounds like your stealing me towards the Lidl.

Obviously as my skills improve, I will attempt more complex jobs....then upgrade.

Just 2 saws left at my local , so need to make a decision !

I can't find this saw on their website. Is it still in stock anywhere? Seems to be from a couple of weeks ago...?

Was on sale 29 April, may be still in some stores, ours has got 2 left....I know they come on sale every 6 months.....it's also better than the evolution saw at 99 squid on screwfix......

I've been using an MLS100 as a trade machine for about 5 years now. It's still going strong. Big enough for stud walling, moderm architreves, skirting, etc. Bags of power

Do you mean cut as wide as you can then flip the board over and line it up again and cut the rest of the way through?

Is that an ok and safe thing to do? I just wondered as I have some wood that needs cutting down but is a bit too wide for my sliding saw.

yes its safe as long as you fully support both halves as the wood will be wider than the designed support capacity off the saw
the only problem you will get if the blade isn't 100% square then you will never get the join looking exactly right

Excellent, i shall have to give it a try when the universe falls into place..ie my baby son is asleep and the weather means I can actually get outside to set up the saw etc!
