in general you will be hard pushed to find a decent slider below the mid £200 so at £111 who knows

your not connected to plumbworld stevo are you as they are the only ones who seem to be selling them

I notice that this saw has only one slide rail and it is used as a swivel for the tilt too. Most good sliding saws have twin slide rails and the tilt is on a separate bracket. I have to say that the cut accuracy would be dubious as the single rail cannot prevent a degree of twist, especially after it is worn in, which although it will be micro amounts it will lead to inaccurate cuts.

Having said that it is good value and if it is for occasional DIY work then it will probably do all you ask of it.

Yes it is for DIY use not everyday or work, i just want to balance cost with quality in an ideal world id just go with quality over cost but sadly cost is a major factor at the moment.

I think so, yes. It has the twin rail system with a separate bracket for the tilt which is a better design. I think for the extra £50 it is worth it as the twin rails means there will be far less potential movement and your cuts will have greater accuracy. Bare in mind that saws like this are heavy and you tend to hump them around a bit so they have to be robust to take the knocks. This machine is what I call 'badged' and it is probably a Chinese built machine commonly put out by different companies dressed in their colours and logos. Nothing wrong with that as I have a number of different 'badged' tools from a similar original source and they have all given good service.

You may have to buy a better blade for it at some point but at this end of the market it would be a better buy than the ROK in my opinion. Have a look on Screwfix there are a good selection of sliding saws there within your budget, the Rage ones might be worth a look.
