Tilling my bathroom floor
Afternoon all,
Just got a question, I have just bought a house with carpet in all bathrooms. I want tile all the floors I know I have to ply board the upstairs floors. My question is should I tile around the sink pedestal & toilet or remove them?
Cheers in advance.

Re: Tilling my bathroom floor
Personally I would tile the floor, and place sanitaryware on top of this.
Cheers to you too!

Re: Tilling my bathroom floor
Thanks for your fast response, if I tile the floors and place the sanitary ware back on top surely I will have to adjust the basin height on the wall and toilet waste pipe??

Re: Tilling my bathroom floor
Why are they carpeted................might be that there is too much flex in the floor for tiling.
make sure any flex issues are dealt with otherwise you will have a failure of grout/adhesive bond or cracked tiles.

I think it's been carpeted as a cost saver, all the other houses in my road are the same. I will do a flex test prior to plying the floor and after I have pled the floor. see if any movement.
