Well, I got along to Lidls yesterday and picked one if these up along with a few packs of the nails/staples.

Gave it a whirl last night when I got home, I tested some of the 15mm staples and the 25mm 'nails' and have to say I was pretty impressed. I tested it on some 2x2 wood ( that's about as technical as I get) and it drove them all the way home seemingly with ease.

Build quality is pretty good, nothing feels particularly cheap or flimsy and it feels well put together.

I got this knowing the limitations, ie it's not going to be able to perform like a nail gun for nailing down decking boards etc, but that's not what I want it for, I wanted it for the types of job where you might otherwise use a hand powered staple gun and maybe a few jobs likew pinning panels onto the backs of furniture etc and for those it seems it will be very useful!

you want the technical term its "toobytooplaned"

you will be surprised how much grip you get from nails and staples
more so with the nails if you angle them alternatively \ / \ /
and if you stapelling stuff like plastic use a square off cardboard off say 2 thicknesses of a cerial box

I've been doing some reading up and it seems that the staples and nails it uses are standard Bosh size ones, the staples are Type 55 and the nails are type 47, so I will be able to get more if I run out (though as I purchased a few packs of spares that may not be for a fair while.
