I thought the idea behind brick laying was to tap the brick dwon into the bed of mortar, not lay the brick on top of the mortar.

I would like to see if that house is still standing in 20 years.

When you bed the brick down you will loose the crisp edge on the joint, so you will still need to point up anyway. :?

I noticed how clever the end piece is, did anyone else notice?

You also get the revolutionary masons mate, how can anyone manage with a string line.

Quite true!

Especially timber frame homes! They are only "guaranteed" by the manufacturer of the frame for 20 years!
