Airport fires
Last weekend came to Nairobi to do a 4 day consultancy job.
My flight home was supposed to be on Wednesday.
Just as I wanted to use the airport on Wednesday, somebody went and burned it down. No terminal building = no flights to anywhere.
So far, I have been stranded here for 2 days, and finally have been allocated a flight out of here on Saturday night, so it will be 3 days in total.
Three days hanging around waiting for KLM to sort themselves out.
Since the fire, KLM didn't contact me until today. No word from them, no information, no advice, no guidance, no contact of any kind - and they weren't answering their phones. Today they finally got around to making contact to tell me I have to wait another day before I can be put on a flight.
When I get home I plan to write to their MD and offer a few words of advice on how they should operate their airline.
Customer service? It mentions it on the website, but I never saw any.
Now rolling up my sleeves in preparation for putting in a claim for compensation, and a claim on my very expensive travel insurance....
I have a reason to be grumpy.

Re: Airport fires
Say hello to Pam Jackson - daughter of a friend of my wife - apparently she's stuck there as well.
One day it will all be firewood.

Saw that on the news...not a surprise that Lufthansa or whichever airline were in chaos...
They weren't entirely sure who had/hadn't left the airport/country....

Why are you interested in ''- daughter of a friend of my wife-'' Don't you see she is too young for you
Wouldn't it be better if you got friendlier with friend of your wife

Re: Airport fires
Depends on the age of the people mentioned. Daughter could easily be over the age of consent.
I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.

Re: Airport fires
I don't recall saying I was interested - but it may have lightened the boredom for one or both of them to have someone different/new to talk to, even if only for a few minutes.kintangoman wrote:ayjay wrote:Say hello to Pam Jackson - daughter of a friend of my wife - apparently she's stuck there as well.

I've met the friend - not interested - nice person but too chunky for my tastes.
I've never met the daughter - don't know if I'm interested; she teaches ceramics, so I would be interested on that score.
If we assume that a female is past the age of consent what exactly is too young for me?

Re: Airport fires
Age of consent lol, That is only a gimmick the powers that be use to feed us false information.
Regardless of how old she is, lets even assume she is 25. That still leaves her too young for AJ.
Don't get 'interested' in anyone who is below or above FIVE yrs from your age.
The idea that if you go out with a younger girl it'll make you feel young is all lies, HONEST. Go out with a mature woman and you'll realise how much you have been missing

Re: Airport fires
How did a fire in Nairobi so quickly turn into a discussion about the age of consent?
Could it be due to a fire in your loins...?

Remarkable how modern buildings still burn so readily. Corrupt inspectors?

Here I was thinking they still built everything out of asbestos in the 2.5/3rd world......clearly they have discovered the rare "flammable" type...
