Making a biscuit joint

Hi I am quite a beginner at woodworking but try my best and I am wondering if someone has any sort of description and/or pictures explaining how to do a biscuit joint? anyone? thanks in advance

Are you using a router and cutter, or a dedicated biscuit cutter?

At the moment I am not using any I am just wondering the best way and what is involved. i was thinking of a biscuit join cutter

There are various other fitings to suit biscuit cut slots, such as knockdown fixings, hinges etc, not just for joining
The dedicated machines outperform the router cutters by far
