Making a biscuit joint

Hi I am quite a beginner at woodworking but try my best and I am wondering if someone has any sort of description and/or pictures explaining how to do a biscuit joint? anyone? thanks in advance

Are you using a router and cutter, or a dedicated biscuit cutter?

At the moment I am not using any I am just wondering the best way and what is involved. i was thinking of a biscuit join cutter

There are various other fitings to suit biscuit cut slots, such as knockdown fixings, hinges etc, not just for joining :wink:

The dedicated machines outperform the router cutters by far :thumbright:
