converting round rungs to flat top

converting round rungs to flat top
Can anyone suggest a product I could use to convert the round rungs on the ladder of my grandson's high bed to a flat profile. They are very uncomfortable to stand on. haven't been able to find anything myself despite numerous internet trawls. Any ideas welcome. Thanks
