Hi all,
In my master bedroom, the main light stopped working sometime ago. I changed the buld with 3 others (just incase!) with no joy.
I have checked the light switch and all looks ok and have even changed the ceiling rose, but still can't get it working. I have used an electrical screw driver and have power going to the ceiling rose when the switch is on but still no light
Has anyone any idea what I have done wrong or even how to fix.
Many Thanks in advanced.
J

it sounds like you may have lost the neutral. this is one of the reasons we don't use the "probe" type of testers, they only test lives.
unfortunately it will be impossible to tell why you have lost the light unless there is some obvious history to it as in, you have altered something recently, changed a light fitting or something like it. other than that, it will require testing to find out why.
