Hello!
I've been a bit quiet in here since we finished the kitchen project. In truth; we done nothing since! ;-)
I'm itching to start again now do it's on to the lounge..........

We've left the door in to contain the dust. We'll be taking the ceiling down, rewiring, plastering (by others), wall papering, new skirting boards, door, curtains, carpet etc.
Oh and open solid fuel fireplace (by others). More for a feature than anything but will be used.
It has to be fine for Christmas but I'm hoping to knock it out quite quick as it should be straight forward (fingers crossed
)
As with the kitchen project I've started a project thread to give me another incentive!
I'll keep updating with progress ............
Thanks
Paul

It won't be worth much now that it's condensed into rubble sacks! Lol
Update........
Ceiling is down!

Carpet and underlay is up!

I turns out that the lounge used to be a night club dance floor!
I've taken one window sill off, now I've had enough for the night.
Oh and some electrics are out. This one was fun. It turns out that the obvious place to spur for a socket on the left hand wall down stairs is from a single socket on the right hand wall in the upstairs bedroom on the opposite side of the house! So that's now gone too!

Going great so far!

Was that only 15 days ago? maybe its not going as slowly as I thought. I will update with pics later.
The electrics have all been done. This now means that there is a brand new ring for the entire downstairs. Originally it was one for the whole house really badly connected in the Fuse Board. Looks like whenever the new board was fitted, the tails were too short. The lives met in a connector block at the top of the board and a short piece of 6mm went from here to the MCB
The plasterers were in this week, it's drying now. We're hoping to get the ceiling painted this weekend and a miss-coat on the walls before papering next week. Also, time depencing; hoping to get as much of the skirting boards done as possible before the fireplace is fitted next wednesday. It's coming together nicely.

Hi Wes,
We're going for a decent carpet with underlay. We want quite a traditional look with a cosy feel. We will be going wooden floor in the hall way soon which will meet up with lounge carpet and the kitchen tiles.

Plastering is done. I just wish it would hurry up and dry!
The electrics are all in. This includes moving the light switch to other side of the door as we'll be hanging the new one on the opposite side of the frame!

Hi mate. It is mdf. I've only got them cut ready. I want to get them on after the fireplace and door liner is in. These should be done by Wednesday.
I'm trying to get as much ready as possible. The carpet fitters are booked for a week on Wednesday so it doesn't leave long in between to get all my bits done.
Thanks for the tip though! ;-)
