Don't you hate it when...............

The other half comes home and says, "oh, and while I was at (supermarket) I brought us some "goodies"
Don't you just know it will be something that is either reduced in price because it doesn't sell or some cheap flavour less stuff.

Well, we got some 25p "Pink iced buns with jam" and some "cream cakes"

Iced buns have the jam as without I am sure they have the texture of shredded newspaper.

The cream cakes are just "stodge"

I binned them both, complete waste of money.

While I am on my soap box. Buying two "because its cheaper" I often think its not cheaper. If its edible, we usually throw one away (past eat by date, or growing its own fur jacket) Or like the other day 2 reams of paper. We print so little we only use 1 ream in a year, so the other one is using space for something else.

Do you agree? disagree or have similar moan?

2-4-1 should be illegal without them offering one at half price.

Another thing that p1sses me off is the unavailability of discounts when you purchase in large quantities. Any other business will give you a discount when you purchase 10 (20, 50, 100 whatever) but supermarkets?????

Don't get me started..... you REALLY don't want to get another of my rants do you?

You really do have to watch these offers in the supermarkets these days. In our local supermarket a few months ago, they had lager for £16 for a case of 24. Right next to it, they had the same lager in a case of 12, priced at only £7.50p. Which one would you buy?. Missus picked up a ten pack of Walkers crisps I looked at the price, which seemed reasonable, further along, they had the large 24 packs only £1 59p more,,, BUT,,,,,, they were on the buy one get one free special. So for only £1.59 p more than the ten pack, we got 48 packs.
I was in B&Poo today to look for some steel mesh type stuff. A piece 500mm x 500mm was priced at about £40. However pieces 250mm x 500mm were priced at £8.24p, so I bought two smaller pieces (was only to cover the external side of the kitchen extractor at work) Dunno where B&Q get their pricing policies so obviously wrong.

Yes, we know, you buy an extra letter "F" every time you type the word "of"

The spell checker should be attached to your browser, not individual forums - it would however be of no use distinguishing between of and off.

Iff  you tell us which browser you are using somebody will be able to tell you how to enable it.

But ayjay, as you pointed out, it will be of no use, since of and off are correctly spelt. Its just that big-all uses the wrong one all the time.

I know. BA introduced the spell checker to the conversation not me.

Syntax checker required in this case.(I've not tried these).

Well I think its a shame to throw them away after your wife was thinking of you both. I would not have done that
